STORIA/PANORAMICA
Si ritiene l'unica Osella con carrozzeria chiusa che sia mai stata realizzata.

Nel 1983 il pilota di Chicago, Frank Werner commissiona ad Enzo Osella una monoposto da schierare nella classe GTP del Campionato IMSA americano. Ne nasce una coupè, la prima ed ultima realizzata a Volpiano, sulla quale viene installato il 4 cilindri BMW derivato dalla Osella-BMW che vinse il Campionato del Mondo Costruttori di Formula 2 nel 1982 e nel 1983. 
Questo progetto porta la sigla FA 2000 IMSA.

La prima Gran Turismo Prototipi “Light”, motorizzata con il superbo 2 litri BMW di formula 2 depotenziato a 350 CV per le gare di durata.
Lo stesso Enzo Osella volle testare personalmente l’auto in pista poco prima del suo debutto alla 24 ore di Daytona del 1984.

Curiosità: 
Conclusa anzitempo la sua carriera in pista, alla metà degli anni Ottanta questa FA 2000 finisce nelle mani di alcuni narcotrafficanti che la nascondono in un container. Dell’auto si perdono le tracce per circa un decennio, fino a quando un medico di New York con la passione delle auto, la recupera in pessime condizioni e la trasferisce nella Grande Mela per riportarla alle splendide condizioni di origine. Numerose le partecipazioni a gare e rievocazioni storiche in Italia nell’ultimo decennio.

Assai rare sul mercato, le auto in grado di mixare esclusività e passione, come questa splendida one-off del 1983, che rappresenta anche l’unica auto da gara “chiusa” fabbricata dalla Casa di Volpiano.

CONDIZIONI
Gli interni sono stati restaurati e la carrozzeria è stata recentemente riverniciata nella iconica livrea bianco - verde - Fuji.
La vettura era precedentemente blu e pressochè priva di sponsor.

Motore BMW M12/7, 2000cc, 4 cilindri in linea da 350 cv abbinato a un cambio Hewland FGB 400/098 manuale 5 rapporti + retromarcia.
