Dieser gepflegte Jaguar XJ6 3.4 Serie II in der begehrten Langversion (LWB) befand sich seit 1980 in der Hand des letzten Halters, einem Niederländer. Aufgrund von Umzug nach Deutschland, ließ der ältere Herr am 20.04.2022 bei Km-Stand 138.366 eine Einzelabnahme durchführen sowie in dem Zuge ein Gutachten zur Einstufung des Wagens als Oldtimer. So wurde der Jaguar am 27.04.2022 in Deutschland mit H-Kennzeichen zugelassen. Aus Altersgründen (Jahrgang 1947) meldete der Besitzer den Wagen am 8.10.2024 wieder ab und hat sich schließlich durchgerungen, das Fahrzeug zum Verkauf freizugeben. Die deutschen Zulassungsdokumente liegen vollständig vor.

Die Historie ist umfangreich dokumentiert durch einen Ordner, der nebst Kaufvertrag von 1980, Rechnungen und besagten TÜV-Gutachten drei Wertgutachten enthält, aus den Jahren 1988, 2002 und 2014. Die für das Alter sehr geringe Laufleistung von knapp 139.700 Kilometern ist somit nachvollziehbar. Seit der letzten HU ist der Jaguar also lediglich rund 1.300 km gelaufen.

Im Oktober 2021, bei Km-Stand 138.258 wurden rund 3.100€ in den Erhalt der Mechanik investiert. Das Fahrwerk zeigt keine Auffälligkeiten, die Bremsen sind standfest, das Getriebe schaltet weich und ohne Störungen, der Motor läuft ruhig und zieht gleichmäßig durch. 

Vor einigen Jahren wurde der Jaguar im originalen Farbton äußerlich neu lackiert und zuvor beide Schweller im hinteren Bereich instandgesetzt. Rost ist derzeit nur an drei Stellen ersichtlich: am Längsträger vorn links, an der Achsaufnahme hinten rechts sowie am Scheibenrahmen vorn links (siehe Bilder). 

Trotz des hervorragenden Zustands brauchen folgende Punkte Aufmerksamkeit:

- Scheibenwischer und Gebläse ohne Funktion; vermutlich ein defektes Relais
- Schiebedach öffnet, fährt dann aber nicht mehr zurück in die Ausgangsposition (kann notfalls per Handkurbel zurückgestellt werden)
- Austritt von Servoflüssigkeit unbekannten Ursprungs.
- Der rechte Tank weist Korrosion auf und ist stillgelegt 

Zusammengefasst überzeugt dieser Jaguar durch die nachvollziehbare Historie, den überdurchschnittlichen und sehr originalen Pflegezustand sowie die seltene Langversion; eine echte Gelegenheit für Liebhaber und Sammler klassischer britischer Limousinen.
