Description from the seller

Chevrolet Corvette C4 Convertible 5.7 automatic from 1989

General

For sale: an original Chevrolet Corvette C4 Convertible from 1989, equipped with the reliable 5.7L V8 and automatic transmission. This car comes from the first owner within one family and has been carefully maintained at all times. The Corvette is mostly still in its original paint, except for the bumpers, which have been repainted due to sun discoloration. It is a well-preserved and rust-free vehicle, originating from Arizona, United States. The car has been fully tax-free imported into Europe.

PAINTWORK:

The bodywork is particularly neat and mostly original. The body shows a clean and representative appearance for its age. Only the bumpers have been repainted due to discoloration, but they fit well with the overall look of the car. There is no rust or major damage.

INTERIOR:

The interior is finished in classic red leather and is in good condition. Everything is electrically operated and recently refurbished, including the windows, seats, and mirrors. The dashboard has been well preserved, and all gauges function properly. The soft top has been recently replaced and is in excellent condition, although there is a small seam coming loose in one of the corners. The lid of the center console shows some signs of aging, appropriate for the age of the car. Upon delivery, the car will be fitted with a new set of sun visors.

Technical

The Corvette drives, shifts, and brakes well. Technically, the car is well maintained, and several parts have been recently replaced. For example, four new tires were mounted just 6,000 miles ago, and the shock absorbers have also been renewed. The main brake cylinder was replaced two years ago, with an invoice of $425. The air conditioning has been fully refurbished (invoice of $1,300) and works excellently, even in cold mode. The cooling system has also been completely cleaned and serviced (invoice of $470). The overall driving experience is as you would expect from a classic American sports car.

Documents

The car is delivered with the original American (USA) title and the complete European import documents. All import taxes have been paid. Additionally, the original manuals, window sticker, and various maintenance invoices are included. A clean Carfax report is also available, confirming the damage-free and honest history of the car.

pick up

The car is available for viewing and can be picked up by appointment in Damwoude, the Netherlands. If desired, we can assist with transportation across Europe.

Other Information

This Corvette is 36 years old, which means there is always room for small improvements or personal modifications. Although the car is in good and drivable condition, it is currently not registered for use on public roads. The car comes with an American title, meaning it still needs to be registered in the destination country.

Given the age of this car (pre-1996), a COC document is not required for registration within the European Union.

We do our utmost to describe each car as honestly and accurately as possible. However, it remains a used vehicle, and minor signs of use or technical issues cannot be ruled out. If in doubt, we warmly invite you to view the car in person.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
