De Teijo pick-up is super zeldzaam, er zijn naar verluidt slechts ongeveer 150-200 gemaakt. Gebaseerd op de Volkswagen Basic Transporter EA489. Het voertuig werd in Finland geproduceerd als TEIJO door WIHURI, destijds de officiële Volkswagen-importeur in Finland. De Teijo pick-up is in samenwerking met Volkswagen gemaakt en voorzien van een chassis en alle technische apparatuur zoals motor, versnellingsbak, instrumenten etc. uit de VW-schappen.
De cockpit en laadbak zijn ontworpen en gemaakt in Finland om beter aan te sluiten bij de Finse markt. Ontworpen als een betaalbare, eenvoudige bestelwagen, werd de TEIJO geproduceerd van 1974-1977.

De Teijo is zo zeldzaam dat veel VW-liefhebbers er niets van weten, wat een bijzondere plaats inneemt in de geschiedenis van Volkswagen.
1600cc VW luchtgekoelde motor, voorwielaandrijving.
 
Geschiedenis van dit voertuig:
Dit voertuig was eind jaren '70 eigendom van het Finse bedrijf VAPO (tuinbouwturfbedrijf), voertuignummer 9. Het is niet bekend hoe lang ze het in bezit hadden. Hun bedrijfsstickers zijn nog steeds aanwezig op de deuren.
Hij werd tijdens de COVID-periode door een VW-liefhebber gekocht als een restauratieproject om hem bezig te houden tijdens de pandemie. Ze hebben hem volledig gestript tot op het kale frame en begonnen met de Nut & Bolt-restauratie, alles werd vernieuwd of teruggebracht in de oorspronkelijke staat.
Sinds de restauratie is hij nauwelijks gebruikt en verkeert hij in een zeer goede staat. Het is op 24 april 2021 ook opgenomen in het register van het Finse museum, net nadat de restauratie was voltooid.

BUITENKANT:
De cabine is nog steeds in de originele blauwe fabriekslak, dit is duidelijker te zien aan het feit dat de voorste motorruimteklep ook nog steeds de originele “TEIJO” sticker heeft. De enige blauwe gebieden die opnieuw zijn gespoten zijn de voor- en achterspatborden.
Uiteraard rondom gebruikerssporen.

Al het hout op de laadbak van de vrachtwagen is vernieuwd, evenals al het metalen frame. De afmeting van het bedoppervlak is 3700 x 2000, het toegestane draaggewicht is 1380 kg.

INTERIEUR
Aan het interieur viel eigenlijk niet zoveel te doen, het was nog in mooie originele staat. Het belangrijkste wat gedaan is, zijn de stoelen in hetzelfde materiaal herstellen, hetzelfde als toen ze de fabriek verlieten.

MECHANICA
Zeer veel aan vernieuwd.
Technisch mag hij nog extra nagekeken worden voordat je er de weg mee opgaat.
Het voertuig start, schakelt en remt, maar mag eerst nagekeken worden.
Bij het schakelen naar achterruit valt hij soms uit de versnelling.

Bij verkoop buiten Nederland wordt dit voertuig verkocht met Nederlandse export documenten.

Aflevering door heel Europa is mogelijk tegen normaal tarief.
